4-5 years of experience in the semiconductor domain.
BSME (Mechanical Engineering) minimum; MS preferred.
At least 1 year of CAD experience with Creo.
Experience with PLM systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design for ion implanter subsystems (process chambers, beamline structures, wafer handling, vacuum chambers).
- Conduct design reviews, apply DfX principles, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA (CREO Simulate, ANSYS) for structural integrity and reliability.
- Execute detailed CAD work, engineering drawings, and BOM management (Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill, Glovia).
- Develop precision motion mechanisms and complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Perform FEA/CFD (thermal, structural, modal) and validate designs via prototyping.
- Drive manufacturability improvements, reliability growth, and cost reduction.
- Define test requirements, coordinate execution, and document engineering test plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, electrical, controls, physics, manufacturing, field service).
- Ensure compliance with SEMI S2/S8 and internal safety standards.
Preferred Experience:
- End station and wafer handling systems.
- Semiconductor equipment design and vacuum system expertise.
- Reverse engineering and precision motion systems.
