Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Work in the Surveillance Systems Division on high-performance imaging and laser systems
• Collaborate with a diversified, cross-disciplinary team across multiple locations
• Provide technical leadership from conceptual design through testing and production implementation
• Design densely packaged opto-mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Design optical airborne sensor payloads
• Develop mechanical specifications and planning for electro-optical system design
• Test complex opto-mechanical mechanisms and optical systems
• Design electronic packaging for printed circuit boards
• Communicate effectively with cross-discipline teams located at multiple sites

Requirements

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 5 years’ experience designing opto-mechanical parts and assemblies
• Experience designing with a solid-modeling CAD program; SolidWorks a plus
• Understanding of drafting standards, including geo-tolerancing
• Knowledge of stress and thermal analysis desired
• Solid PC skills, including MS Office
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience working within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce
