Role Description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a broad role that requires working on a variety of engineering programs and projects. The role works on projects for large and small customers to meet the customers timelines. The Senior Mechanical Engineer works in a team environment to understand each customer’s unique needs and mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure both Roush standards and customer requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of the product development process
- Working in a fast-paced engineering environment, self-starter/proactive, ability to multi-task
- Working experience of 3D design (CAD), packaging, validation and release of mechanical components and systems
- Experience performing digital packaging assessments and compatibility checks.
- Functional proficiency with CAD packages like SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, or similar
- Working knowledge of DFA (Design for Assembly), DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFS (Design for Serviceability)
- Working knowledge of DFMEAs, failure root cause analysis, 8Ds and development and execution of DVPs
- Working experience in test procedures development, creation and execution of test plans, external test house coordination
- Prototype vehicles build coordination and management of test and evaluation vehicles
- Experience working in a hands‑on/cross functional environment (Ex. Formula SAE, SAE Baja etc.)
- Working experience with test data collection and data post processing to create meaningful test reports and conclusions
- Working experience in BOMs
Key Must Have's
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- 4+ years of engineering work experience.
- Functional proficiency to 3D model and draft in SolidWorks.
- Working Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), Simulation and Finite Element Analysis in SolidWorks or other computer applications.
- Capable of planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating technical aspects of projects.
- Working Knowledge, understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Knowledge in the development and execution of Design Validation Plans (DVPs) to demonstrate functionality and mitigate risk of premature failure.
- Ability to mentor others on best practices of design and engineering principles.
- Manufacturing experience including machining, metal forming, code welding and composites.
- Experience in interpretation and application of ASTM-F24 standards.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting and root cause problem solving experience.
