Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fremont, CA
A leading advanced technology company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and continuous improvement of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems. This is a hands-on role focused on precision mechanical design, automation, system integration, and advanced equipment development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of mechanical, electromechanical, and motion-control systems.
- Perform GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design evaluations at the system and subsystem levels.
- Lead system integration, validation, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
- Drive improvements in performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Own CAD models, BOMs, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate fabrication, assembly, installation, integration, and testing.
- Manage engineering projects from concept through production.
- Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Process, and Quality Engineering teams.
- Work hands-on to build, integrate, test, and troubleshoot new systems.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of mechanical systems design and development experience.
- 5+ years of CAD experience, preferably with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
- 5+ years designing complex equipment, machinery, or automated systems.
- Strong GD&T and engineering drawing skills.
- Experience with thermal analysis, FEA, CFD, and simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience integrating and testing complex electromechanical systems.
- Strong systems-level problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Automation, robotics, motion systems, or complex electromechanical equipment.
- FMEA or other engineering risk-analysis methodologies.
- High-performance equipment or complex industrial machinery.
