Senior Mechanical Engineer Details:

• Contract to Hire position
• $33.00 to $40.00 / hour
• First Shift
• Lead the design and development of automated packaging and filling equipment from concept to production.
• Create and optimize mechanical systems, 3D CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation using SOLIDWORKS.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, and validate machine designs to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, service, and customer teams to deliver innovative equipment solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring engineers and leading technical decision-making.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in machine design, automation, packaging equipment, or industrial machinery.
• Strong proficiency with SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD, mechanical design, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from concept through production, including prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and manufacturing support.
• Experience designing complex automated equipment and working with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, pneumatics, and assembly.
• Must possess strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and work directly with customers, suppliers, and production teams.
