Senior Mechanical Engineer – Electromechanical Systems Design, Test & LaunchSky Climber is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, optimization, and launch of innovative hoisting systems and components for suspended access and lifting equipment.This is a high-impact engineering role responsible for driving product innovation, performance, reliability, manufacturability, customer experience, market competitiveness, and margin improvement throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electromechanical systems, hands-on product development experience, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges from concept through commercialization.What You'll DoLead the mechanical design, development, testing, and launch of electromechanical systems, assemblies, and componentsTranslate customer, regulatory, and business requirements into robust, manufacturable product designsPerform engineering analyses including stress, fatigue, deflection, load, and performance calculationsOwn New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including concept development, design reviews, prototyping, validation testing, and launch readinessOptimize existing products using customer feedback, field performance data, warranty trends, and manufacturing inputDrive design improvements that enhance product reliability, safety, usability, and overall customer experienceIdentify and implement cost-reduction initiatives through design simplification, material selection, and process improvementsPartner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to improve manufacturability and reduce lifecycle costsSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing, assembly, and field performance issuesEnsure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety regulationsCreate and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, Bills of Material (BOMs), test plans, and technical manualsLead cross-functional engineering initiatives and provide technical guidance throughout the product development processQualifications & ExperienceRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 10 years of mechanical design and testing experienceDemonstrated experience designing and developing electromechanical systemsStrong experience with SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) softwareThorough understanding of statics, mechanics of materials, machine design, and fatigue analysisExperience with GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and manufacturing processesProven track record leading product development programs and successful product launchesStrong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with hoisting systems, suspended access equipment, lifting systems, or other safety-critical equipmentExperience working in industrial equipment, material handling, construction equipment, or related industriesKnowledge of applicable industry standards and regulatory requirementsExperience supporting products from concept through commercialization and field deploymentPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to work onsite at Sky Climber's Delaware, Ohio facilityAbility to work within engineering, manufacturing, and testing environmentsOccasional travel may be required to customer sites, suppliers, or testing facilitiesAbility to observe and support equipment testing and validation activitiesWhy Join Sky Climber?At Sky Climber, engineering innovation directly impacts the products that customers rely on to safely perform work at height.
