Senior Mechanical Engineer - Data Centers

Overview: Lead mechanical engineering for high‑performance data center and AI factory design. Coordinate a multi‑disciplinary team across multiple sites, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as the mechanical discipline project lead on multi‑location data center projects.
- Oversee technical performance of the team for contracted scope, schedule, and budget.
- Create technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models for piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including clean/dry rooms.
- Maintain communication with project team members and clients.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines.
- Use engineering and design software to perform tasks.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
- Perform quality reviews to ensure conformance to codes, specifications, and best practices.
- Manage changes to scope, schedule, or professional services.
- Meet with contractors to discuss technical aspects of design and construction.
- Conduct field verification and site walks to validate and resolve design issues.
- Resolve design issues on site during construction.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to less experienced staff.
- Participate in proposal preparation and staffing plans.
- Travel as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license; ability to register in additional states.
- Minimum 12 years of mechanical engineering experience with data center design required.
- Experience with HVAC, chilled water, air handling, hot/cold aisle containment, utility piping, and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of local building codes and international standards.
- Experience working with Revit.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid passport for occasional international travel.
