Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 12+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design to join its MEP team. This role involves leading projects from concept through construction, mentoring junior staff, coordinating across disciplines, and maintaining strong client relationships. Projects include healthcare, educational, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities throughout New England and New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of HVAC systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, equipment selection, and controls concepts
- Oversee plumbing coordination and design
- Manage projects through all phases including design, documentation, coordination, and construction administration
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff and designers
- Coordinate with architects, MEP disciplines, owners, contractors, and consultants
- Support energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis
- Attend client meetings and provide technical leadership throughout project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with applicable building and energy codes
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Prior project management experience within an MEP consulting environment
- Experience with healthcare, educational, commercial, or industrial facilities
Strong client-facing communication and leadership abilities

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12+ years of mechanical consulting engineering experience focused on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
