Opportunity
You will be responsible for supporting the engineer design efforts with a specific focus on industrial projects such as Semiconductor Manufacturing, Data Centers, and other Advanced Manufacturing projects. This role requires knowledge of Mechanical Systems and Design including heating/cooling loads calculations, HVAC equipment selection, heat recovery systems, air and water plant distribution systems, ventilation, and process exhaust systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge in scope definition, design schedule management, coordination with other disciplines, design document creation, and quality reviews
- Coordination with department heads for resource allocation
- Budget tracking throughout design
- RFP scope definition and resource estimation
- Preform engineering studies for highly technical clients whose details include but are not limited to phased system loading, payback analysis, and knowledge of industry trends
- Technical writing for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, Sequence of Operations documents, and narratives for non-technical audiences explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making
- Oversee load calculations, systems design, cross-discipline coordination, and signing and sealing of contract documents
- Leading a team of Engineers and Designers on multiple projects
- Mentoring junior engineers and participating in in-house continuing education programs
Capabilities and Credentials
- Technical writing experience and proficiency
- Experience in mechanical systems design
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks (preferred)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial design and construction industry with a current Professional Engineers license in the U.S.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as the primary engineering interface with multiple clients. This could be either as a Project Manager or as the Engineering Lead
Work Environment
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
