We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team in support of the design, integration, prototyping, and testing of high-precision semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role will collaborate closely with software and applications teams to develop and integrate new technology in the area of imprint lithography.

Key responsibilities include specification development, precision machine design, FMEA, FEA, design for manufacturability, prototype assembly, and validation testing. The ideal candidate is highly hands‑on, experienced with electromechanical and pneumatic systems, and excels at root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting. This role requires an innovative engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Essential Functions

  • Design and develop high-precision subsystems for semiconductor capital equipment
  • Perform engineering analyses including FEA and related methodologies
  • Design systems for manufacturability and serviceability
  • Communicate technical concepts across engineering teams and with external vendors
  • Assemble and test prototype equipment
  • Design and execute experiments to verify system and subsystem specifications
  • Perform error budget analysis and verification of electromechanical, optical, pneumatic, fluid management, and vacuum systems
  • Maintain engineering documentation including system specifications and theory of operation

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 5+ years of relevant experience

Experience

  • Hands‑on design, debugging, and testing of linear and/or rotary stages, pneumatic regulators and solenoids, and optical or capacitive sensors within electromechanical systems
  • Strong root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven experience with experimental design and statistical analysis
  • Experience integrating pneumatic, vacuum, capacitive, and optical sensing systems
  • Proficiency in Creo, NX, or similar 3D CAD software
  • MATLAB or Octave experience preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
