Senior Mechanical Engineer – Product Development

Location: Austin, TX

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 5–7+ years of experience in new product development to join an innovative engineering team focused on bringing products from concept through production. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of consumer, medical, industrial, and electro-mechanical products.

A portfolio showcasing relevant design work is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical products from concept through manufacturing.
• Develop and evaluate design concepts through engineering analysis, prototyping, and testing.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and production documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Support project execution, technical problem-solving, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a product development environment.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD software.
• Experience designing mechanical systems, precision mechanisms, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and additive manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and release packages.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Preferred

• Experience serving as a technical lead or project lead.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Background working with industrial design teams.
• Experience with medical devices, consumer products, industrial equipment, or robotics.
