A leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer / Engineer to join its growing Atlanta team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of complex healthcare and mission-critical facilities , working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams on high-impact projects throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HVAC and mechanical systems design for complex healthcare facilities
- Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform quality reviews to ensure technical excellence and code compliance
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and healthcare clients throughout project delivery
- Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field issue resolution
- Mentor junior engineers and designers while providing technical leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of mechanical design/engineering experience within the AEC industry
- Extensive healthcare project experience, including hospitals and ambulatory care facilities
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, healthcare codes, and industry standards
- Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and mechanical load calculation software
- PE license preferred
