Senior Mechanical Engineer, Aero Equipment ITR

• Lead projects for the Application & Project Engineering team delivering wing-to-wing customer solutions for Equipment projects from competitive proposal through execution.


• Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, sourcing, project management, and external customers.


• Execute OTR project engineering with global teams for project-specific requests and customizations.


• Create and review Bills of Material from product Features and Options and provide approvals.


• Develop customer drawing packages incorporating requested customizations.


• Review build books and build plans; prepare ECO markups to update BOMs for manufacturing.


• Prepare and process supplier technical specifications and approve supplier drawing releases for compliance with project CTQs.


• Clarify product questions and resolve site issues with installation and commissioning teams.


• Prepare customer meeting presentations and participate in kickoffs and project execution discussions.


• Lead design tollgate reviews with chief engineers on project NPI designs.


• Review design and risk mitigation needs and communicate modifications to manufacturing and sourcing.


• Present technical design reviews and identify IP and position paper ideas; record IDLs.


• Execute T&RS compliance items and ensure package compliance with local codes and regulations.


• Identify project savings and available-parts opportunities to meet cost-saving goals.


• Create new parts with the Part COE team as needed to complete project BOMs.


• Execute CGER technical work, including drawing redlines, standards, parts creation, and specifications.


• Attend engineering release, HOM, CKOM, PSE handover, and customer meetings and provide technical support.


• Resolve project issues with shop and testing teams during manufacturing and testing.


• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to reduce COQ.


• Communicate significant issues and recommendations to senior leadership.


• Develop standard work instructions for ITR processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.


• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience related to bills of materials, manufacturing, drawing creation, drawing change management, mechanical engineering, and product design.


• Minimum of four (4) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with strong understanding of gas turbines-based packages including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment.


• Minimum of four (4) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience.


• Proven expertise in Gas Turbine & Power augmentation, Gas Turbine Installation and Foundations, Fuel systems design, Hydraulic systems design, Lube oil systems, and TR&S compliance, codes & standards.


• Minimum of eight (8) years of exposure to power generation equipment manufacturing or packaging.


• Practical knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and problem-solving techniques.


• Strong understanding of Aeroderivative gas turbines and packages with demonstrated technical capability.
