Senior Material Handler

The Sr. Material Handler for Voyager Lunar Systems, formerly Astrobotic Technology, is responsible for managing the flow, storage, and accurate handling of materials, hardware, and certified components for aerospace low-rate manufacturing from receipt of goods to final product shipping.
The position reports to the Director of Supply Chain and is part of the Supply Chain Department based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role is onsite based in Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, the essential functions are:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming aerospace materials, hardware, and components against purchase orders, Certificates of Conformance, and technical documentation.
- Prepare and kit materials for work orders, ensuring accuracy in part numbers, revisions, and configuration requirements.
- Perform inventory transactions within ERP/MRP systems to maintain real-time visibility of material availability.
- Monitor shelf-life items such as adhesives, sealants, chemicals, and other regulated aerospace materials.
- Conduct cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies in alignment with audit and compliance requirements.
- Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials, working closely with Quality, MRB, and Engineering teams.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, powered industrial trucks, and other lifting equipment in compliance with aerospace safety procedures.
- Coordinate packaging, preservation, and shipment of flight-critical components using approved aerospace packaging standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or a related field with 4+ years of experience in materials management in a complex R&D/low-rate production environment OR 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency is MS office software including MS Word and Excel
- Experience using an MRP system
- Effectively works autonomously with a self-start & self-motivated work ethic
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in aerospace or DOD industry
- Experience working in low-rate, project-based production environment
Travel, Physical, and/or Government Mandated Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move or carry items or equipment up to 35 pounds
The good faith base salary range for this role is $65,000–$95,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
