This encompasses the definition of test hardware, test fixtures, and embedded test resources within the product to improve testabilityProvide level of effort estimates to the NPI product manager to support scheduling of development and factory introduction activityDevelop manufacturing test software within a LabVIEW/Teststand/Python environmentActively participate in the definition and evolution of the manufacturing test software environmentFactory Sustaining ResponsibilitiesSupport production activity within ST Engineering iDirect by helping to resolve production issues as they occur, with emphasis on understanding and resolving the root cause of the problemIdentify opportunities for manufacturing test cost reduction, such as test yield improvements, and test time reductions, without impacting outgoing product qualityWork with our IT team to evaluate and improve our data collection, and test metric reporting capabilitiesRepresent Manufacturing test at Business Review meetings with teams at our manufacturing sitesQualificationsEducation: BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience Experience: 5+ years of industry experience w/in manufacturing test engineering.Requirement: Must have demonstrated experience across hardware, software, and manufacturing environments, with a strong background supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing test development, and factory sustaining activities.Technical Requirements:BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent5+years experience in the test engineering profession5+years experience developing manufacturing test software using Labview/TeststandPython Programming experience including instrument control, interfacing with SQL databases, and source management best practicesExperience in hardware design an assetDemonstrated ability to work independently to achieve desired results from general objectivesExcellent teamwork and interpersonal skillsAbility to work with contractors, and engineering teams worldwideExcellent communication skills: listening, speaking, and in writing; able to express thoughts and concepts to a variety of people with different skill levelsExperience with communication systems, radio/microwave frequency, and/or VSAT systems is a plusProfessional Qualities:Has a 'can do' attitude - willing to dive into and take ownership of critical design issues.Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.Must be able to analyze and solve technical problems.Must be able to look under the hood to appreciate the low level functionality of the tools.Must have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.Completes tasks in a timely manner.Communicates effectively on a technical level.Can work under pressure in high visibility situations.Flexible - able to quickly adapt to changing conditions and make decisions based on incomplete data.While we emphasize the ability to work in a team, the candidate must also be effective as a single contributor as the situation warrants.Willing to take direction and follow sound software development processes.Pay Range: $91,000-165,000The ST Engineering iDirect salary range for this position is intended to provide a general guideline for compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and other business or legal considerations.
