Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives across key value streams within the Pall Corporation manufacturing organization. The role focuses on achieving target performance metrics in Safety, Quality, On‑Time Delivery, Lead Time Reduction, and Productivity through the application of LEAN (DBS) tools, data‑driven root cause analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to support and facilitate daily manufacturing operations, addressing documentation, process, and material flow gaps.
  • Lead the implementation of Lean/DBS tools via Kaizens to sustain targeted performance levels, conducting root cause analysis and developing timely solutions for production issues.
  • Research and implement advanced technology solutions that drive breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery/Lead Time, Inventory, and/or Productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supervisors, purchasing, and the continuous improvement team to prioritize improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain production processes, methods, and controls; prepare operations manuals for new or existing equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related manufacturing engineering role.
  • Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and tolerance analysis.
  • Strong background in quality processes with knowledge of FMEA, DOE, and failure analysis.
  • Experience with complex manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.

Physical/Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to stand or walk for 8–10 hour shifts, lift up to 30–50 pounds, and operate delicate measurement tools.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

Preferable Experience (Add‑on)

  • High‑volume manufacturing experience.
  • Problem‑solving and analysis skills.
  • Experience designing cutting tools and holding fixtures for CNC and manual machining using CAD.
  • Experience with CNC programming for multi‑axis CNC mills and lathes.
  • Knowledge of GDT, Aerospace Mil‑Specifications, and ability to interpret complex detailed machine drawings with section views.
