Position Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improvements within value streams, aligning with yearly targets in Safety, Quality, On‑Time Delivery, Lead Time reduction, and Productivity. This role is a key member of the Value Stream leadership team, ensuring day‑to‑day results and developing data‑supported, root‑cause focused action plans that support breakthrough KPI results, aided by the implementation of LEAN (DBS) tools and practices. This onsite role is located in New Port Richey, FL, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The work schedule is Monday‑Friday, with occasional weekend work to support production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to support and facilitate daily manufacturing operations of equipment, addressing documentation, process, and material flow gaps or opportunities.
  • Lead the implementation of Lean/DBS tools via formal or informal Kaizens to achieve and sustain targeted performance. Conduct root‑cause analysis and develop timely solutions for issues in current products and processes. Interact daily with customers on quality and assurance matters.
  • Research and implement advanced technology solutions that help the value stream achieve breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery/Lead Time reduction, Inventory, and/or Productivity.
  • Work with engineering, supervisors, purchasing, and the continuous improvement team to prioritize projects.
  • Oversee the development of new processes, methods, and production controls. Prepare operations manuals for new or existing equipment.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related role.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and tolerance analysis.
  • Strong quality process background and knowledge of FMEA, DOE, and Failure Analysis.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with complex manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High‑volume manufacturing experience.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Hydraulic assembly and test experience.
  • Experience designing assembly and test tooling using CAD and implementing automation in assembly and test operations.
  • Knowledge of GDT, Aerospace Mil‑Specifications, and Hydraulic Schematics.

Eligibility & Physical Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent residency, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Access to export‑controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services is required.
  • Essential physical demands include the stamina to stand or walk for 8–10 hour shifts, the ability to lift 30–50 pounds, and fine motor skills for operating delicate measurement tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
