This is a direct hire onsite opportunity that does require 25–50% travel to other countries.Client ProfileOur client is an established technology and manufacturing organization that designs and produces innovative commercial products through domestic and international contract manufacturing partnerships.Role OverviewThe Senior Manufacturing & Supplier Quality Engineer will serve as a key technical liaison between engineering and contract manufacturing partners in Mexico, China, and the Dallas area. This position combines hands on manufacturing engineering with supplier quality ownership and is responsible for ensuring products consistently meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards.This role requires an engineer who is genuinely curious about how products are made and can investigate manufacturing problems at their source.
The successful candidate will understand materials, plastics, injection molding, assembly processes, hydraulics, fluid dynamics, and production environments and will use that knowledge to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.The position will initially require approximately 25% to 50% travel while establishing relationships, processes, and quality standards with contract manufacturing partners. Travel is expected to decrease over time, although ongoing domestic and international travel will remain part of the role.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn quality assurance and production engineering activities across contract manufacturing partners in Mexico, China, and the Dallas areaDevelop and standardize dock to stock processes, including incoming inspection criteria, sampling plans, and acceptance standardsInvestigate manufacturing and product quality issues through root cause analysis involving materials, injection molding and mold gating, assembly processes, environmental factors, and other production variablesDrive corrective actions with contract manufacturing partners and ensure issues are effectively resolvedCoordinate first article inspections and support production readiness for new and revised productsDevelop and improve manufacturing documentation, work instructions, inspection requirements, and production processesConduct supplier and manufacturing audits and validate production processesIdentify opportunities to improve quality, consistency, efficiency, and manufacturability across multiple production locationsEnsure compliance with UL and other applicable regulatory and product standardsPartner with design engineering to provide manufacturing feedback and design for manufacturability recommendations during new product developmentWork directly with domestic and international manufacturing partners to establish consistent processes and expectationsServe as a highly autonomous engineering resource capable of managing priorities and resolving issues across multiple manufacturing sitesRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier quality engineering, production engineering, quality engineering, or a closely related fieldExperience working directly with contract manufacturers or within multi site manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of how physical products are manufactured, assembled, inspected, tested, and validatedWorking knowledge of plastics, materials, injection molding, and production assembly processesExperience investigating manufacturing failures and performing root cause analysis and corrective actionsExperience with supplier quality, first article inspections, production readiness, and continuous improvementStrong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detailAbility to work independently and take ownership of manufacturing and quality issuesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with international and cross cultural manufacturing partnersProficiency with Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with ERP and quality management systems such as NetSuite or comparable platformsAbility and willingness to travel domestically and internationallyPreferred Skills & QualificationsExperience with hydraulics, fluid dynamics, or water management productsKnowledge of UL certification processes and regulatory compliance for commercial or consumer productsProficiency with Adobe Fusion or similar 3D CAD softwareSpanish language proficiencyCertified Lead Auditor experience involving ISO 19011 or comparable standardsKnowledge of internal auditing, lead auditing, quality management systems, and implementationASQ CQE or comparable quality certificationExperience with Keithley Instruments, Tektronix, or comparable electronic test equipment, including SMUs, DMMs, analyzers, or automated testingExperience with TestRail or a comparable test management platformPrevious team leadership or management experience is helpful but not requiredBenefits and FeaturesAdditional incentives may be awarded based on profitability goals and achievement of key objectivesMedical and dental benefits401(k)PTO and holiday payHigh level of autonomy and ownershipDirect collaboration with engineering leadershipOpportunity to influence manufacturing and quality processes across domestic and international production partnersPotential hybrid flexibility following the initial six month onboarding period if needed to secure the right candidateJob Requirements• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline• 6+ years of experience in quality engineering, production engineering, or manufacturing engineering• Working knowledge of design assessments of plastics materials, and production assembly processesAdditional InformationFrontline Source Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
