The Senior Manager, SAP Applications is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of SAP enterprise systems across the organization. Reporting to the Director of IT Applications, this role bridges strategic direction and hands‑on execution managing a team of SAP functional resources, driving cross‑functional projects, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that support company growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end SAP project delivery across multiple functional areas including Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance.
- Manage and develop a team of SAP analysts, functional consultants (onshore and offshore).
- Partner with Supply Chain business leadership to gather requirements, define and architect SAP solutions, and ensure successful adoption.
- Oversee SAP system configuration, enhancements, integrations, and data migration activities in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Monitor SAP S/4HANA and supply chain roadmap updates to recommend functional enhancements and support the Director, IT Applications in shaping the long-term SAP technology roadmap.
- Collaborate with planning teams to support demand planning and material requirements processes, including integration with MRP and downstream execution.
- Define and enforce SAP development standards, best practices, and SDLC processes across the team.
- Serve as escalation point for complex system issues; lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships for SAP initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, technical documentation, test plans, and support documentation.
- Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
- Evaluate and drive adoption of emerging technologies including automation and Gen AI integrations with SAP.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of SAP implementation and support experience, with at least 3 years in a people management or lead role.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on SAP MM functional experience, including configuration and production support.
- Deep knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and have a strong understanding of contract manufacturing business processes.
- Strong knowledge of material master data, classification, BOM structures and inventory/valuation processes.
- Familiarity with Fiori Apps and Embedded Analytics.
- Experience with at least 2 full lifecycle end‑to‑end SAP implementations.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred; knowledge of SAP APO or planning solutions a plus.
- Experience with S/4HANA RISE Private Cloud environments.
- SAP MM or S/4HANA certification is a plus.
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, including working knowledge of integration points between MM, FI/CO, SD and PP modules.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including mentoring junior and mid‑level analysts.
- Excellent project management skills with experience managing budgets, timelines, and cross‑functional dependencies.
- Strong communication skills and able to present complex technical topics clearly to business and executive audiences.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into well‑defined technical solutions.
- Experience in consumer‑packaged goods industries is preferable.
- Experience working with global and offshore teams in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
- Exposure to demand planning platforms such as o9 or SAP IBP and related SAP integrations.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as automation, RPA, and Gen AI as they relate to enterprise applications.
