This role balances hands-on engineering tasks with leadership responsibilities, fostering innovation and collaboration to deliver high-quality applications. They serve their team with a people-first approach to coaching and mentoring, ensuring the team has the resources and training necessary to succeed. The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for code, strategy, architecture and design reviews and translating data into reports for leadership.
The role is responsible for building/coaching and growing an AI native Engineering team.
The role is also responsible for working with various vendor platforms to integrate in accordance with architecture patterns.
The role will oversee a complex ecosystem of SaaS solutions and lead a team focused on building robust integrations, APIs, observability and data pipelines that unify these disparate systems into a seamless experience for our shop crews and HQ functions to support the shop.Job QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on mobile technologies - or equivalent relevant experience, required8+ years of experience working in the Engineering capacity4+ years of experience managing a team of engineersDeep technical expertise in managing 3rd party SaaS ecosystems and integrating applications.2+ experience working on AI based tools.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Technical Leadership and Innovation:Define in collaboration with Delivery and Business, and execute the platform roadmap aligned with business goalsLead the build/grow of the Engineering team in native AI first environment.Drive adoption of emerging technologies and best practicesLead solution design and code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable solutionsOptimize development workflows and deployment processesTranslate technical achievements and data into insightful reports for leadershipContinuous improvement to automate processes and eliminate manual touches by business and TechPartner with vendors to influence their roadmaps, manage API versioning, and troubleshoot deep-seated technical conflicts.Lead the design and development of end to end integration of Shop Tech systems.Develop with Product team and communicate a 6–12 month tech roadmap that eliminates manual workaroundsTeam Development and Operational Excellence:Build and mentor a high-performing team of full-stack developersEstablish and monitor key performance indicators for the development teamImplement robust quality assurance processes for application testingEnsure timely delivery of projects across Shop, marketing, Finance, and internal toolsFoster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the teamCross-functional collaboration and business impact:Collaborate with product management and Shops Ops business teams to deliver exceptional user experiencesEnsure applications meet security standards and data protection requirementsDrive improvements in application performance, observability and user satisfaction metricsWork closely with Shop operations and Product teams to understand pain points and provide technical solutions.SkillsTechnical LeadershipTeam ManagementProject Management OversightQuality AssuranceMentorshipTeamworkInnovationLocation Requirement:This role is located in Tempe, Arizona.
