Leading a team of 6-10 engineers, the full-time Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering will oversee the development and operation of core platform services within a cloud-native environment, focusing on delivery, team growth, and technical direction, while working flexibly in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers, managing hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance Own end-to-end delivery for the team's domain, setting priorities and ensuring commitments are met from design through production operation Establish reliability and scalability of services, implementing SLOs and driving down incidents across various environments Required qualifications 10+ years of experience in building production software with substantial hands-on experience in distributed systems and Kubernetes 5+ years of experience managing software engineers with a proven track record in team development and delivery Experience with major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services Strong knowledge of containers, CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code Ability to communicate technical risks and trade-offs effectively to both engineers and senior leadership
