Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight Lead and oversee compliance programs related to: FDIC Deposit Insurance Coverage requirements (Part 330) FDIC Recordkeeping and Deposit Insurance Determination requirements (Part 370) Credit Reporting and Furnishing requirements, including FCRA and Regulation V Customer communications and regulatory statement distribution requirements Auto Finance servicing regulatory obligations KYC and Customer Due Diligence programs
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impacts, and drive implementation of required changes. Ensure policies, procedures, controls, and governance frameworks remain compliant and effective. Provide subject matter expertise and credible challenge to business partners on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Risk Management & Controls Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks associated with operational processes and customer-facing activities. Oversee control design, testing, issue management, and remediation activities. Review responses to regulatory examinations, compliance reviews, audit engagements, and internal assessments. Monitor risk indicators, compliance metrics, and emerging risks; elevate concerns appropriately.
  • Operational Leadership Provide oversight of KYC Operations and compliance-related operational processes. Partner with Auto Finance Servicing leaders to ensure regulatory requirements are effectively incorporated into servicing activities. Ensure timely and accurate execution of regulatory statement distribution and customer notification obligations. Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency while maintaining strong regulatory compliance.
  • Team Leadership & Development Coach and develop a team of compliance professionals. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing culture. Build strong partnerships across Compliance, Operations, and Business Line leadership. Promote a solution-oriented approach that balances regulatory expectations with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Present compliance issues, emerging risks, and program performance to senior management. Influence decision-making through clear communication and practical recommendations. Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders regarding regulatory requirements and compliance risk management.

Preferred Skills:

  • Must have knowledge/work experience with FDIC Regs 330 and 370.
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Regulation V.
  • Banking Operations and Regulatory Compliance frameworks work experience in a banking/financial industry (Note: We need less Operational and more Regulatory Compliance knowledge).
  • 7 years of strong Progressive compliance, operational risk, regulatory, or banking experience (Note: We need less operational and more Regulatory Compliance knowledge).
  • Knowledge of Auto Finance servicing regulations and operational processes (a plus).
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management and compliance governance frameworks (a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Law, or a related field.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation (a plus).
  • Experience managing teams and developing employees.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

Education & Experience:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience 10+ years of experience

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Leads, coaches and manages a high performing team on delivery of Compliance programs Determines and decides policy and/or action based on internal and external industry developments for Compliance Programs.
  • Proactively reviews and advises the business of new and changed Compliance regulatory and/or policy changes Contributes to the development and implementation of Compliance programs related to all aspects of Compliance laws.
  • Works with executive team, senior business unit management/partners to develop proactive strategies, tactics, policies and programs to effectively manage regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ensures team collaboration with partners on business problems/issues and provides fact-based analytical advice that aligns to strategy and addresses business regulatory requirements and issues.
  • Reviews and/or contributes on the development and presentation of analysis and insights back to executive leaders/business partners to drive strategic improvements and address regulatory requirements and issues.
  • Engages with business partners and business leaders to determine and implement Compliance strategies and directs the compliance culture Provides insight, guidance, and recommendation on Compliance subject matter, regulatory and industry issues and acts as a specialized resource to other departments based on subject matter expertise.
  • Provides explanation and/or resolution for business/Compliance management based findings.
  • Manages high risk initiatives and escalations; leads initiatives/guidance as appropriate.
  • Manages day to day operations of the department and participates in enterprise wide projects Advises on day-to-day Compliance matters affecting the business including, but not limited to, customer identification and due diligence, enhanced due diligence, training and compliance testing.
  • Delivers relevant subject matter expertise and Compliance advice to business management.
  • Maintains oversight (via review and approval) of all functions and accountabilities related to management reporting and analysis Shareholder Accountabilities.

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Actively assists in developing and overseeing implementation of business line policies and Compliance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Works closely with leaders to develop and operationalize the business plan and deliver on Compliance programs across the enterprise Plans and executes on strategic activities, reviews and communicates results, and adjusts priorities accordingly.
  • Proactively identifies key business opportunities, researches and recommends enhancements/modifications, develops strategies to achieve recommendations and works closely with team to execute and implement Understands TDBG issues/parameters and guides others to protect the reputation and interest of TD by adhering to operating standards and processes related to Compliance.
  • Coordinates and supports team and business Compliance related activities as necessary Partners with the governance & assurance function to develop various training and awareness programs Provides oversight on enterprise wide annual risk assessment process as required Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high risk transactions/activities as necessary Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite Oversees that employees are building and enhancing their knowledge and expertise; and employees assume responsibility in minimizing operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank policy and Code of Conduct Employee/Team Accountabilities.
