Overview

Responsible for the complete product life cycle from pre-selling and business acquisition through program delivery, including commercial negotiations, customer statement of work negotiations/deliverables, managing program deliverables through launch, and achieving project budget, quality, and timing targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new business pre-selling, quoting, negotiation, and award, including finalizing sourcing and program agreements (statement of work) with defined customer groups.
  • Represent the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) professionally to customers and YF Management; motivate the team to meet commitments and established timing.
  • Act as the central communication point for the SDT to ensure each member is aware of deliverables, timing, and commitments; manage the SDT to meet timing, cost, manufacturing, quality, and cost targets.
  • Establish SDT meeting cadence and monitor attendance to ensure the correct team members are present at each meeting.
  • Manage weekly and periodic customer program meetings with engineering and commercial stakeholders, including management-level reporting.
  • Develop work breakdown structure (WBS) with customer milestones/deliverables; manage gate timing and create related documents (prototype schedule, CAD schedule, part matrices, etc.). Ensure gate exit reviews occur on time and maintain clear issue lists with due dates.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable product requirements, including specifications, functional expectations, and regulatory requirements negotiated in the customer SOW.
  • Financial Roadmap & Financial Reporting: achieve, track, and report all program financial targets (BOM cost targets, ED&D, capital investment); report status monthly. Manage product changes to meet technical and commercial targets and ensure BOM cost targets are met.
  • Scope Management: communicate scope changes to the customer and SDT with cost, timing, product, and quality impacts; capture changes in appropriate documents; use the scope change approval process; differentiate from engineering changes; manage risk and protect financial performance.
  • Global Management Skills: function across cultures with awareness and respect for cultural differences.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Work Experience: Minimum ten (10) years in Technical Sales, Program Management, or Engineering; automotive industry experience preferred; at least five (5) years in the Automotive Industry, including one vehicle launch; automotive electronics experience required; PMP certification desired.
  • Language Skills: English.
