About the company
We're partnering with an early-stage physical AI startup in Pittsburgh. They're building the software that helps robots and autonomous machines learn from real-world data. The founding team comes from Pittsburgh's robotics community and is hiring its first engineers.
The role
As a founding engineer, you'll shape both the ML stack and the engineering culture. You'll build the systems that collect, organize and learn from large amounts of robot data. You'll work side by side with the founders on what gets built and how.
What you'll do
- Build the ML infrastructure for training and testing models on robot data
- Train and evaluate models for perception and decision-making
- Create pipelines that turn raw sensor data into training data
- Make early decisions on tools, architecture and process
- Talk with customers to understand what their robots need
What you'll bring
- 4+ years of experience in ML engineering
- Strong xzgxqkn Python and PyTorch
- Experience building ML infrastructure or large data pipelines
- Experience with robotics or sensor data (camera, LiDAR or similar)
- You enjoy ownership and building from a blank page
Nice to have
- ROS or ROS 2 experience
- Cloud experience (AWS or GCP) at scale
- Experience at an early-stage startup
