Role Summary

Primary Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and execution support for the mechanical, electrical, piping, and fire protection (MEPFP) disciplines for power sector projects.
  • Lead day-to-day development, coordination, and delivery of MEPFP systems across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project requirements for safety, quality, performance,budgetand schedule.
  • Work closely with project teams, field leadership, design partners, OEMs, and trade partners to resolve complex system challenges, support constructability, and ensure successful installation, testing, and commissioning of major power plant systems.
  • Contribute directly to estimating, system development, bid analysis, scheduling, quality control, and commissioning, while ensuring engineering decisions are practical, executable, and aligned with project and commercialobjectives.

Leadership Role Responsibilities:

  • Report toEngineeringServices Leadership Team.
  • Lead initiative to strengthen the company’s technical capabilities within the power sector.
  • Build and develop team of M/E engineers whileestablishingconsistent approaches, and reinforcing technical standards that enable scalable, high-quality project execution.
  • Lead the delivery ofreliable outcomes andadvancingthe company’s presence in the power generation

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
  • Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
  • Assists in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.
  • Assistsin the completion of bid analysis and provides input during the subcontractor selection process.
  • Assistsin developing sequencing requirements of various systems and providing solutions to meet the schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documentsin order toidentifypotential quality problems toassistin developing constructability review reports.
  • Learnsto perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations aremetand work is completed in a quality andtimelymanner.
  • Learnsandassistswith the shop drawing/submittal process tocomply withthe contract documents.
  • Assistswith the commissioning process including developing pre-functional checklists, functional testingproceduresand actual functional testing.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

  • Completes increasingly complex mechanical,electricaland field construction activities.
  • Develops budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information.
  • Reviews mechanical and electrical options, completes systems analysis, recommends bestsystemfor theprojectand provides value engineering suggestions.
  • Coordinates the mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process.
  • Develops sequencing requirements of various systems and provides solutions to meet the schedule requirements. Provides scheduling input during projects.
  • Reviews design documents andidentifiespotential quality problems. Helps develop quality control programs.
  • Performs job inspections at various times in the project to ensure specifications and expectations aremetand work is completed in a quality manner.
  • Develops pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures. Verifiescontractor’sperformance offunctionaltest.
  • Reviews and approves shop drawings prior tosubmittingto the design team.
  • Generates and issues the Commissioning Plan for approval to theappropriate parties.
  • Verifiesdeficiencies are corrected andsubmitscommissioning documentation to owners.
  • Provides mentoring to less experienced co-workers.
  • Creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products.
  • Negotiates subcontracts with subcontractors.
  • Participates in interviews for winning work, presentations and business development efforts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to conduct effective presentations (Advanced).
  • Ability to read and understand plans,drawingsand specifications.
  • Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management to projects.
  • Proficiencyin required construction technology (Advanced).
  • Proficiencyin scheduling software (Intermediate).
  • Ability to apply Leanprocessandphilosophy(Advanced).
  • Ability to manage budgets, maximizeprofitabilityand generate future work through building relationships (Advanced).
  • Ability to prepare the project budget, GMP or hard bid.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of power generation technologies.
  • Ability to execute successful EPC contracts.
  • Advanced understanding of natural gas and thermal power generation systems, including design, construction, and commissioning, specificallyregardingelectrical, mechanical,process piping,plumbing, and fire protection.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required).
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

10+yearsconstruction management experience (Preferred).

Proventrack recordmanaging major power generation projects for all aspects outlined above .

Expertisein EPC delivery model and risk management.

Established network of relationships with key industry stakeholders.

  • Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
