Overview
KFO Family Office is seeking a highly strategic, disciplined, and execution-oriented Senior Litigation Counsel to support a $1B+ litigation and asset recovery campaign, overseeing complex disputes, enterprise enforcement strategy, fiduciary litigation, and high-stakes legal operations across KFO’s multi-fund ecosystem spanning hedge funds that include venture platforms, private equity, strategic partnerships, as well as philanthropic initiatives.
This role reports directly to executive leadership and serves as a senior litigation authority responsible for dispute strategy, litigation oversight, asset recovery coordination, enterprise defense, investigative legal operations, and complex multi-jurisdictional legal matters across all KFO entities and affiliated operations.
The ideal candidate combines institutional-caliber litigation expertise with strong operational instincts and the ability to navigate sophisticated litigation, regulatory, investigative, and transactional environments involving private capital, enterprise structuring, and high-value counterparties.

Position
As Senior Litigation Counsel, you will oversee and coordinate litigation strategy associated with KFO’s operations, including:
- Fiduciary litigation and enterprise disputes

This role requires a highly strategic operator with experience managing complex litigation campaigns across corporate, financial, and transactional environments.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee litigation strategy across KFO Family Office and affiliated entities
- Manage complex commercial disputes, fiduciary litigation, and enterprise enforcement matters
- Coordinate litigation workflows with outside counsel, investigators, forensic specialists, and executive leadership
- Support strategic asset recovery initiatives and enforcement actions across multiple jurisdictions
- Oversee discovery strategy, evidence coordination, document preservation, and litigation readiness
- Advise executive leadership on litigation exposure, legal risk, enterprise defense, and dispute resolution strategy
- Coordinate internal investigations and sensitive legal matters involving enterprise operations and counterparties
- Draft, review, and oversee litigation-related legal documentation, settlement strategy, and enforcement positioning
- Protect enterprise intellectual property, confidential information, and strategic operational interests
- Support regulatory response efforts, compliance matters, and high-level legal escalations
- Assist in developing internal legal systems, litigation procedures, and operational governance frameworks across all KFO entities
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing
- 7+ years of experience in litigation, complex commercial disputes, fiduciary litigation, white-collar matters, enterprise investigations, or strategic enforcement actions
- Strong background in fiduciary litigation, asset recovery, commercial disputes, or enterprise enforcement strategy strongly preferred
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional litigation and coordinating with outside counsel, investigators, or regulatory bodies
- Prior experience in U.S. federal government agencies or regulatory/legal environments strongly preferred, including exposure to organizations such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Treasury, federal courts, or equivalent enforcement and regulatory bodies
- Former Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA), federal prosecutor, or complex investigations background considered a strong asset
- Experience supporting or working on $1B+ litigation, fund, or enterprise-scale legal matters strongly preferred
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and executive communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in confidential, fast-paced, and high-pressure environments
- Strong operational judgment with the ability to balance legal precision and strategic business objectives
- An active member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar, or eligible to obtain a Corporate Counsel Certificate under Virginia Supreme Court Rule 1A:5 to practice law in-house in Virginia
