Location: 100% remote but must be licensed to practice in the state of California

Pay: $80.17/hr; Paid every Friday

Schedule: Regular business hours (Pacific Time)

Join a high-performing legal team handling complex, high-risk litigation. The Senior Trial Counsel provides expert legal representation, guides case strategy, and mentors other attorneys and paralegals within the West Region's National Trial Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex trials, hearings, arbitrations, and appeals.
• Evaluate cases, develop litigation plans, and communicate with internal stakeholders.
• Conduct discovery, depositions, and motion practice; lead negotiations and settlements.
• Interpret insurance contracts and coverage issues with expert-level proficiency.
• Mentor and train legal staff; contribute to audits and compliance with best practices.
• Build strong relationships with claims partners and assist with business retention.

Qualifications

• Education: JD or equivalent and active law license in the U.S. to practice in the state of California
• Experience: 10+ years of civil litigation and trial experience, including jury trials as lead counsel. Insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise: Specialized knowledge in insurance or related practice areas.
• Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities; strong leadership and time management; proficiency with standard legal software.
