The successful candidate will handle complex and high-stakes disputes across various industries, including energy, healthcare, and real estate, in both state and federal courts.
Duties
- Lead motions practice, drafting and arguing dispositive and non‑dispositive motions.
- Own deposition strategy and execution, including taking and defending key depositions.
- Direct all phases of discovery, managing end‑to‑end discovery strategy.
- Drive case strategy and execution, aligning tactics with business objectives.
- Serve as primary day‑to‑day client contact, providing strategic advice and updates.
- Lead hearings and proceedings, taking a leadership role in trial preparation.
- Manage matters holistically, overseeing budgets, staffing, and timelines.
- Supervise and develop junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to practice development through client relationship expansion and thought leadership.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school; admitted and in good standing with the Washington bar.
- 7+ years of complex commercial litigation experience, preferably at a top‑tier firm.
- Experience in specialized areas such as real estate, construction, or intellectual property litigation is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead matters independently and manage clients with limited oversight.
- Extensive experience in motions practice and depositions.
- Deep expertise in discovery management and ESI strategy.
- Strong command of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence.
- Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills.
