Supporting Linux system automation and infrastructure for academic applications, the full-time Senior Linux Systems Administrator will independently design, administer, and manage complex Linux systems and networks while providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff in a remote capacity. Key responsibilities Design and support complex Linux systems and networks for academic and student information systems Lead large-scale implementations, upgrades, and security management initiatives Provide mentorship and direction to junior staff while ensuring operational reliability and infrastructure automation Required qualifications Associate's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience (10-14 years of Linux administration) Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration, including scripting and Ansible Experience with backup and recovery procedures, networking, and identity-management tools General knowledge of computer hardware and ability to support diverse system and application issues Proven ability to manage priorities and deadlines in complex technical environments
