Senior Level Software Engineer - SPLUNKOur contract supports more than 12 efforts with varying levels of hardware and software development requirements. Our projects are focused on front end equipment configuration/maintenance, back-end repositories, front end dashboards, as well as everything in between for the full data processing thread. Our teams can range from one to two developers to a team of 12.
All of our teams work right alongside our customer to discuss requirements, identify solutions, and choose the way forward for implementation. As part of an engineering office, our customer and our workforce look and plan for future expectations- continuously trying to stay ahead of the next challenge.This position is for a software developer that has experience integrating and reporting data utilizing SPLUNK. Candidates will be responsible for working with various projects and applications to understand data types and sources to ensure they are being incorporated into an enterprise SPLUNK.
Candidate will need to be able to communicate to project applications for any data flow/type changes are needed for SPLUNK. Application projects and data types will range from equipment inventory and costs, dataflow rates, health and monitoring of equipment and other.Work Schedule: Monday- Friday: Normal schedule. Specific start/end times can be determine by candidate and the team for best schedule needs.Essential Responsibilities:Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirementsDesign and code new software or modifies existing software to add new featuresDebug existing software and corrects defectsIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsDevelop simple data queries for existing proposed databases or data repositoriesMake recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDevelop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standardsAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software componentsWrite or review software and system documentationDevelop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areasModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performanceDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designDesign or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queriesOversees one or more software development teams and ensures the work in completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.Design and implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team productsConfer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfacesCoordinates software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are metImplement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsMinimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Three plus years of experience with SPLUNKThree plus years of C++ experience14 or more years of relevant java programming experience to include at least two years of java 1.7+ and development of presentation tiersTwo or more years of experience using Spring and JavascriptFive or more years of JSP and servlet programming experienceFive or more years of experience with JEE and enterprise web application design and developmentFive or more years of experience designing and writing REST-ful applicationsAbility to create and deploy applications in an Apache Tomcat web serverOne or more eyars experience using Javascript presentation libraries such as Jquery, Angular, and EXTJSOne or more years of MongoDB, Apache Camel desiredClearance Required:TS/SCI with PolyMinimum Education:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical disciple from an accredited college or university is required.Minimum Years of Experience:Nineteen (19) years of experience is required.
