Job Overview:
A growing alternative investment platform is seeking a Lead Transactional Attorney to support its rapidly expanding structured credit business. This individual will serve as the lead legal specialist for the firm’s asset-backed finance platform, working closely with the investment team across the full transaction lifecycle — from initial term sheet negotiations through documentation, execution, and ongoing portfolio management.
This is a unique opportunity to become the first dedicated lawyer embedded full-time with the structured finance investment team and help shape the legal infrastructure of a fast-growing platform launched in 2024.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead transactional legal support for structured credit and asset-backed finance investments
- Advise investment professionals from term sheet negotiation through closing and portfolio management
- Review, draft, and negotiate definitive transaction documentation
- Support transactions involving debt instruments, loan purchases, and equity/JV structures
- Manage and coordinate external counsel on transaction matters
- Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, operations, accounting, and fund teams
- Help establish and develop legal processes and infrastructure for the structured finance practice
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of transactional legal experience within structured finance or asset-backed finance
- Strong experience handling debt transactions, loan acquisitions, and structured credit matters
- Familiarity with a variety of asset classes including consumer, residential, commercial, and esoteric assets preferred
- Ability to work closely with investment teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
- Experience managing outside counsel and coordinating across internal stakeholders
