Senior Lead Software Engineer - AI Engineer role in JPMorganChase’s Consumer and Community Banking organization, focused on secure, scalable software and governed agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build complex, scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks
• Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code authored by others
• Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows (using enterprise-authorized tools within the work environment) to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes at scale
• Enable workflow capabilities such as AI-driven PR review assistance, test generation and maintenance, release readiness checks, and incident triage/root-cause acceleration
• Define guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse across teams
• Apply knowledge of tools in the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to scale automation value
• Advise cross-functional teams on technology matters within the domain of expertise
• Act as the function’s go-to subject matter expert
• Contribute to technical methods in specialized fields aligned with current product development methodologies
• Create durable, reusable software frameworks leveraged across teams and functions
• Influence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams
• Help define enterprise-scale, target-state AI-enabled architecture for Consumer and Community Banking solutions, supporting best-in-class and next-generation customer experiences
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define roadmaps and solution architectures toward target state

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Expert in one or more programming languages
• Demonstrated experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices (with enterprise-authorized tools in the work environment), including:
  • Standards for human‑in‑the‑loop validation
  • Auditability and traceability of changes
  • Secure handling of sensitive data
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use and engineering workflow control expectations, including security and resiliency implications, data sensitivity, and risk‑based governance; ability to influence senior technical leaders on safe scaling and reuse patterns
• Experience applying expertise and new methods to resolve complex technology problems within one or more technical disciplines
• Understanding of the business
• Practical cloud‑native experience

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes, with considerable in depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (for example: cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)

Location: Plano, TX (onsite)
Salary: USD 152,000 - 225,000 per year
