Eckard Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Senior Landman to serve as a key member of the Land Department, supporting a broad range of land, acquisition, and operational initiatives across the company. While this position's primary focus will be the management and growth of the company's non-operated asset portfolio, the successful candidate will also play an important role in acquisitions, operated assets, and strategic projects as the company continues to expand.
Working closely with executive management, engineering, geology, accounting, legal, and business development teams, this individual will provide senior-level land support across multiple disciplines and contribute to the continued growth of the company's operated and non-operated businesses.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated land professional with strong technical knowledge, sound business judgment, and the ability to independently manage a diverse range of land responsibilities. Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior member of the Land Department supporting non-operated assets, acquisitions, operated properties, and strategic land initiatives
- Assist with the company's non-operated asset portfolio, including ownership matters, well proposals, JOAs, AFEs, title issues, and operator relationships
- Support acquisitions and divestitures through land due diligence, title review, contract negotiation, and transaction execution
- Assist with operated asset development, leasing programs, drilling projects, and future operational growth initiatives
- Draft, review, and negotiate JOAs, farm-ins, AMIs, purchase and sale agreements, assignments, unit designations, and other land-related contracts
- Negotiate oil and gas leases, assignments, farm-ins, easements, surface agreements, and other land contracts
- Review, analyze, and cure title issues associated with acquisitions, development projects, and existing assets
- Coordinate closely with engineering, geology, accounting, regulatory, legal, and business development teams to support company objectives
- Assist in managing outside land brokers, title attorneys, and contract land personnel
- Prepare regulatory filings, applications, and supporting documentation as required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with operators, mineral owners, industry partners, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
- Assist with special projects and strategic business initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years of in-house land experience with an exploration and production company
- Proven experience and senior-level knowledge of title and regulatory environments in TX (Permian Basin)
- Strong understanding of non-operated asset management, oil and gas acquisitions, title, leasing, curative, and development operations
- Experience supporting operated drilling programs and development projects is preferred
- Proven experience negotiating leases, JOAs, farm-ins, assignments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and other oil and gas contracts
- Experience managing land brokers, outside counsel, and contract land personnel
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects while collaborating across multiple business disciplines
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of initiative, ownership, and accountability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Registered Professional Landman (RPL) or Certified Professional Landman (CPL) designation is preferred
