Senior Java DeveloperThis multi-year engagement is for an onsite Senior Java Developer who will be designing and developing web/mobile applications, support applications tools and dashboards as well as performing production support activities and leading junior members.Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Java based applications, tools and monitoring dashboards in an Agile environmentPerform application verification and validationPerform code asset management, promote asset reusePerform monitoring of web and mobile applications, troubleshoot and triage issues, connect and follow up with various teams for issue resolution and track the issues to closureDevelop and maintain SOPs/runbooks, issue logs, reports and other documentsWork independently and with teams to meet SLAsLead and mentor junior team membersRequirements/Expectations:Must be self-motivated, takes initiativeGood in follow up and tracking to closureDetail oriented and organizedMust be a team playerExcellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skillsSkills:8+ years of experience working in IT industry, of which 4 years is in Java development and 2 years is in designing Java based solutionsStrong Java/J2EE development experienceStrong in Spring/Spring Boot, JDBC, HibernateGood understanding of AJAX/Javascript, HTML5, CSSWorking knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologyExperience using Jira or Rally, GitExcellent database/SQL skills, performance tuning experienceTroubleshooting skills/experience (application level as well as platform/server level)Working knowledge in microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful Web Services, Batch processes/Jenkins, Tomcat, KafkaWorking knowledge in monitoring tools (preferably Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana or Elastic)Experience in creating dashboards (preferably Grafana or Elastic)Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer ScienceThis is an opportunity for San Francisco candidates only.
