Senior Java Developer

Senior Java DeveloperOur client is a well-known Insurance provider looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their growing team on a 1-year contract. In this role, you will work closely with the team to build a brand new, highly scalable cloud-based application. This position focuses heavily on source code development, unit test case development, functional/system integration testing, and production support.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, senior developer capable of translating business requirements into robust, cloud-native technical solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesCore Objective: Actively develop and build a new cloud-based application utilizing Java, Spring, and AWS ecosystems.Requirements & Design: Work closely with Business Analysts to understand functional specifications and translate them into scalable technical designs.Development & Testing: Execute hands-on source code development and build detailed unit test cases.Integration & Deployment: Support functional/system integration testing efforts and assist with deployment schedules.Architecture Support: Contribute to technical architecture decisions and efforts aimed at constructing resilient, highly scalable software platforms.Production Support: Provide maintenance and operational production support as needed to ensure system stability.Qualifications & Technical SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.Core Java Expertise: Minimum 7+ years of development experience in Java/J2EE technologies, including strong multi-threading experience using core Java libraries (specifically the Executor framework).Frameworks: Extensive experience with Spring, Spring MVC, and an ORM framework (myBatis or Hibernate preferred).AWS & Cloud Technologies: Solid experience with AWS infrastructure—specifically S3, EC2, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.Database Experience: Proficient in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2), SQL database design, and writing/optimizing complex queries. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB) for handling unstructured data.Web Services & UI: Experience using and implementing RESTful web services alongside knowledge of JavaScript, JSP, CSS, HTML, jQuery, XML, JSON, and AJAX.DevOps/Tools: Proven experience working with CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins, and Maven.
