Intellectual Property Paralegal with strong experience in trademark filings and a working knowledge of patent filing processes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling filings with the USPTO (TEAS and EFS-Web/Patent Center) and coordinating with external counsel on international matters.This position reports to Vice President, Associate General Counsel - Corporate Services and is based onsite in Irvine or Carlsbad, CA.As the Intellectual Property Paralegal, you will have an opportunity to:Support the management and protection of the company's global IP portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrightsFile and manage trademark applications using USPTO TEAS and coordinate international filings through WIPO and foreign associates.Monitor and execute trademark renewals, post-registration maintenance, and office action responses.Monitor IP watch notices, perform trademark clearance searches, and support enforcement effortsHandle chain-of-title recordation and ownership updates across copyright, trademark, and patent portfolios.Assist with inventor declarations, and assignment filings.Coordinate with inventors and outside counsel to ensure accurate and timely submissions on patent prosecution, monitor deadlinesHandle payment of maintenance/annuity feesMaintain IP records and databases, ensuring accuracy and timely reportingAssist with IP-related agreements, audits, and due diligence requestsProvide general support on copyright, licensing and other IP matters as neededYou have:Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP paralegal work, with strong emphasis on trademark filings; patent experience a plus.Hands-on experience with TEAS, USPTO systems (EFS-Web, Patent Center), and U.S. Copyright Office filings.Familiarity with patent prosecution support, including filing basics and managing patent-related documents and timelines.Experience working with foreign counsel and understanding of international filing protocols is a plus.Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with legal, business, and technical teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and IP docketing software (knowledge of CPI a plus).Thorough understanding of docketing policies and procedures as they relate to the USPTO including TEAS, TSDR, TTAB and foreign requirements.Able to adapt to change, able to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail; able to adapt to communication styles; understands that different situations may call for different approachesContinually looks to improve performance; takes personal accountability for decisions, actions and outcomesMust be able to perform and work independently as well as part of a small team.Pay Range:Annual Salary: $113,000.00 - $120,000.00The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.We offer a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits including: medical and dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401K, PTO, paid holidays, gear discounts and the ability to add value to an exciting mission!
