Senior Integrations EngineerThe Senior Integrations Engineer is responsible for the technical development, maintenance, and support of inbound and outbound integrations supporting Workday HCM, Finance, Payroll, and related enterprise systems. This role focuses on hands-on configuration, coding, testing, and troubleshooting of interfaces while ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture, data governance, and security standards. The Senior Integrations Engineer works closely with functional analysts, technical leads, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure data exchanges across institutional systems.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

The University is unable to sponsor this role, now or in the future.Key Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesDevelop complex Workday inbound and outbound integrations using Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs, and middleware toolsAnalyze and optimize integration performance, troubleshoot complex errors, and implement enhancements to improve reliability and scalabilityPerform unit and integration testingProvide break/fix support and troubleshoot production issuesPerform regression testing and monitor integration performanceProvide technical guidance on integration architecture, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with architects on enterprise integration strategiesTranslate functional and technical specifications into integration solutionsMaintain technical documentation, data mappings, and interface specificationsEnsure integrations adhere to data quality, security, and privacy standardsSupport audits and validation processesSupport monitoring, incident resolution, and regression testingLead resolution of high-severity production issues and deployment activitiesWork with functional analysts, architects, and vendors to enhance integrations, optimize performance, and support system releasesMaintain detailed technical documentation, enforce integration standards, and ensure compliance with data governance and security policiesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area required; six to eight years of related experience developing and supporting system integrations requiredExperience with Workday integrations preferredFamiliarity with data mapping and transformation logicStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skillsAbility to translate technical specifications into working integrationsKnowledge of data security and privacy principlesStrong documentation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentRequired Technical SkillsProficiency with Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), and Core ConnectorsStrong understanding of the Workday data model and business processesExperience with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP web services, and SFTPKnowledge of database concepts and SQL queryingUnderstanding of HR and payroll business processesUnderstanding of integration monitoring and error handling processesScripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or similar)Version control systems (Git)Middleware platforms and integration monitoring toolsPosition Type: Information TechnologyAdditional Information: Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.
