Senior Integrated Safety Analysis Engineer
Required Skills & Experience Direct experience developing or materially revising an ISA and ISA Summary for a 10 CFR Part 70 fuel-cycle facility. Hands-on experience with hazard identification and accident-sequence development. Strong knowledge of consequence evaluation, IROFS, and management measures. Experience conducting or applying HAZOPs, What-If Analyses, FMEAs, fault-tree methods, or equivalent process hazard-analysis techniques. Demonstrated experience personally authoring licensing-basis or nuclear safety-analysis documentation. Ability to integrate inputs from multiple technical disciplines into a cohesive and defensible safety basis. Ability to translate design and process information into documented hazards, sequences, controls, and safety conclusions. Ability to distinguish between high-level licensing-framework development and later detailed process-specific analysis. Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field, or equivalent directly relevant experience. Strong technical writing, facilitation, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience Experience with TRISO fuel, HALEU, uranium fuel fabrication, chemical processing, or new-facility licensing. Experience personally authoring ISA or ISA Summary content for an NRC-regulated fuel-cycle facility. Experience facilitating process hazard analyses and converting the results into ISA sequences and IROFS requirements. Experience supporting greenfield facilities or projects involving significant design uncertainty. Familiarity with DOE nuclear safety analysis that can transfer to a Part 70 environment. Eight or more years of Part 70 ISA or closely related nuclear safety-analysis experience
Job Description The Senior Integrated Safety Analysis Engineer will serve as the hands-on working lead for development of the 10 CFR Part 70 ISA methodology, licensing chapter, and initial ISA Summary basis for a new Category 2 TRISO fuel manufacturing facility.
The initial phase is focused on establishing the licensing framework, reconciling available heritage information, identifying hazards and accident-sequence structures, defining analysis assumptions and boundaries, and creating initial licensing content. It is not expected to consist solely of conducting a complete HAZOP on a finalized design. As the process and facility design mature, this individual will help define, conduct, interpret, and document the process-specific analyses needed to complete the facility safety basis. This is 100% remote with a pay rate range from $90-130/hr.
