Senior Infrastructure Project EngineerThe Senior Infrastructure Project Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and delivering complex IT projects that fall outside standard managed services agreements. This role combines strong technical execution with ownership of project design, documentation, timelines, and budgets. The Senior Infrastructure Project Engineer ensures projects are delivered according to best practices, aligned with client requirements, and ready for seamless handoff to the service team.Key Responsibilities:Lead technical onboarding, discovery, and environment assessments for new clientsStandardize client environments to MSP best practices (M365, Azure AD, AD, security, backups, monitoring)Ensure environments are fully documented and integrated into internal systemsAct as the technical lead through onboarding until transition to steady-state supportDesign technical solutions that meet client business needsCreate clear scopes of work, estimates, and project work plansDefine project phases, tasks, dependencies, resources, and checklistsIdentify risks, dependencies, and out-of-scope work earlyExecute projects according to approved plans and standardsTrack project progress, hours, and scope alignmentIdentify and escalate change order needs when scope changesDeliver secure, scalable, and supportable solutionsDesign and implement network, server, cloud, and migration projectsWork across routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and hybrid environmentsAssess existing environments and recommend improvementsMaintain accurate project documentation, diagrams, and ticket notesEnsure documentation is complete and usable for service and support teamsContribute to standardized templates, checklists, and project processesMentor junior engineers during project workCoordinate with Project Managers, Account Managers, and Client Success teamsProvide feedback on recurring issues and process improvementsProjects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with best practices.
