Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to provide daily operations and project support for our infrastructure, with a specific focus on the firm's GRID environment and across all cloud product offerings. This role involves developing, testing, and deploying automated workflows, researching and implementing process or technology improvements, and providing expert-level consultation for complex automation. The position requires participation in shift and weekend coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operations and project support for infrastructure, focusing on the GRID environment and cloud product offerings.
- Develop, test, and deploy automated workflows to support IT business objectives.
- Research and implement process or technology enhancements.
- Offer technical guidance and expert consultation for complex automation workflows.
- Deliver solutions that integrate technologies to perform desired functions.
- Create and deliver technical documentation for all completed projects.
- Support shift and weekend coverage requirements.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in infrastructure or software engineering/development.
- A minimum of 6+ years of experience with Python and Ansible.
- A minimum of 6+ years of experience with shell/Bash/Ksh scripting.
- Exposure to large enterprise grid deployment and/or cloud integration.
- Experience in developing projects using Go lang, XML, XSLT, SOAP, RESTful, and SQL.
- Proficiency with command-line interfaces (CLI), third-party APIs, and integration.
- Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Git and Jenkins.
- Experience with designing, developing, and testing configuration management (Terraform) as code.
- Familiarity with Azure/AWS technologies and constructing applications and services on these platforms.
- Experience creating and maintaining complex data-driven automations and queries using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in system, network, security, and database operations, protocols, and technologies.
- Experience developing secure technologies, with knowledge of ACLs and role-based entitlements.
- Experience with IT core applications like DNS, Active Directory, Kerberos, SMTP, and Apache.
- A minimum of a 4-year degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with web programming languages and database design, particularly SQL.
- Experience with version control systems (preferably GIT), virtualization, and cloud frameworks.
- Server administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
- Understanding of engineering for scale in large environments (50,000+ servers).
- Familiarity with Microsoft PowerShell development.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including SCRUM and DevOps.
- Experience creating technical documentation and training materials.
