Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a Senior Industrial Engineer to improve distribution centre efficiency, productivity and operational performance across a large-scale supply chain network.

This role will lead process optimisation, workflow design, labour standards and continuous improvement initiatives, using industrial engineering principles, operational data and technology to improve warehouse performance and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and redesign distribution centre processes to improve workflow, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.
• Design and implement efficient workflows that optimise labour, equipment, technology and facility resources.
• Identify opportunities to introduce automation and technology solutions that improve operational accuracy and performance.
• Act as a subject matter expert on documented operational methods, providing guidance on standard procedures and proposed process changes.
• Lead the execution and maintenance of the Labour Standards Programme across the distribution network.
• Maintain engineered labour standards, operating methods and the Labour Management System.
• Drive consistent operational practices and performance standards across distribution centres.
• Collaborate with Operations, Transportation, Procurement and IT teams to deliver supply chain improvement projects.
• Lead projects from initial analysis and design through implementation and performance evaluation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial engineering experience, ideally focused on distribution centre optimisation or a comparable environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Experience managing projects from concept through implementation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL.
• Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology experience.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Labour Management Systems.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and warehouse automation technologies.
• Experience developing engineered labour standards and using MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique).
• Experience with distribution centre methods, workflow design and operational performance optimisation.

Additional Information

The position is based at the Phoenix Home Office, with a minimum expectation of four days per week on-site. One remote flex day may be available with management approval.
