Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer – Florida | Hybrid Opportunity
A growing and well-established MEP consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join its Florida team. This position offers the opportunity to lead the design of HVAC and mechanical systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and mixed‑use projects.
Responsibilities
- Design HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and mechanical building systems
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural teams
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing
- Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Support projects through design, permitting, and construction phases
- Mentor junior engineers and designers
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of HVAC/mechanical design experience within an MEP consulting environment
- Experience with HVAC design software and engineering calculations
- Strong knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and mechanical systems
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
- PE license is not required
