Overview

The Human Resources, Sr. Consultant is responsible for ensuring that all HR Systems are legally compliant and capable of surviving an internal or external audit.The incumbent has primary responsibility for overseeing employment processes, training and development, payroll, time keeping, organization headcount, and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and managesthestrategic vision fortheHuman ResourcesTeam andeliminatesnon-value addedprocesses

  • Writes annual (MBO) goals andobjectives, develops action plans to ensuretimelyresults, and holds Team Members accountable

  • Provides oversightforand strategic management of recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, orientation, learning and development, payroll, benefits, time management, and organizational headcount administration

  • Develops andmaintainslegally compliantand Best PracticeHR Systemstoinclude:Employment, Learning and Development,Succession Planning, andPerformanceManagement

  • Provides guidance and direction to the management staff on all Human Resources issues

  • Collaborates with General Legal Counselon all non-routineemployment and policy/procedureissues to reduce litigation risks

  • Develops andmaintainsthe Team Member Handbook and Salaried Handbook addendum, ensures that policies and procedures are legally compliant with all local, state, and federal guidelines

  • Develops andmaintainsthe HR Department’s key performance indicators and associated reports

  • Evaluates positive and negative trends and develops countermeasures to address concerns, presents findings to the CEO, HR Coordinator, and other senior managers

  • Develops the annual budget for the HR Department, coordinates with the Accounting Division for local approval

  • Serves as the Chair for the Plant’s 401 (k) Fiduciary Committee and acts as the Company’s agent and signatory for all plan adjustments and improvements

  • Collaborates with the Company’sthird partyvendorsfor both 401 (k)audits and annual benefits reviews, evaluations, and planchanges

  • Serves as the Company’s agent and signatory for all matters relating toimmigrationprocessing anddocumentation

  • Writes Team Member Newsbulletin boardpostings, ensures that all communicationsare grammatically correct,informative, andeasy to understand

  • Collaborates with General Legal Counsel/Team Relations to ensure thatpolicies, procedures, and communications reflect the Company’s pro-employee position

  • Acts as custodian for all personnel files andemploymentdocuments and manages the department’s document retention and destruction plan

  • Performs an annual internal audit of all Human Resources processes,researchesindustry trendsand ensures compliance with existing and emerging laws

  • Representsthe CEO at community functions andparticipatesin areaworkforce developmentinitiatives

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, orrelatedfield of study

  • At least 10years ofHR Management experience in ahigh-volumemanufacturing environment

  • At least fiveyears’ experienceina largeoperationof 500 plus employees

RequiredKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of employment lawincluding recruiting, hiring,on-boarding, new hireorientation, andinitialtrainingexpectations

  • Proven ability to develop, deploy, andmaintainlegally compliant HR Systems

  • Proven ability toprepare and deliver professional presentationsandjob specifictraining

  • Proven ability to produce and administer legally compliant job performance improvement plan documentsdesigned tochangepoor job performance

  • Ability towrite and speak simply and clearlyto ensure on-goinglegalcompliance

  • Proven ability toexceed expectations with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Ability to write and administer legally compliant handbook policies and procedures

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in human resources,Businessor related field of study

  • Experience serving on a 401 (k) Fiduciary Committeeand experience with 401 (k) audits

  • Experience in negotiating with third party benefit consultantsto ensure competitive pricing and plandesigns

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Professional HR Certification(PHR or SHRM-CP)or higher
