We are currently hiring a Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer to work out of our corporate office in Beverly, MA.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and evaluation of high voltage electrical systems (1kV–100kV+), including power supplies and distribution systemsDesign and develop high voltage power supplies, pulsed power systems, and power disruption/protection circuitsPerform system-level design for electromechanical equipment, including power distribution, vacuum systems, high voltage subsystems, control systems, robotics, safety interlocks, and electrostatic chuck technologiesEnsure adherence to product development processes including: Requirements definitionSystem architectureDesign reviewsVerification and validation testingAnalyze high voltage systems for performance, reliability, and failure modes, including insulation design, grounding, shielding, and arc preventionConduct experimental testing, characterize system behavior, and evaluate results for continuous improvementEnsure designs meet safety standards, industry standards (e.g., SEMI), and customer requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and offshore partners to deliver robust, manufacturable designs on scheduleSelect components and materials based on high voltage performance, reliability, and safety considerationsSupport vendor selection and evaluate supplier capabilities for high voltage components and assembliesProvide technical leadership in risk assessment, safety reviews, and high voltage design best practicesBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electrical hardware design with a strong focus on high voltage systems (?1kV up to 100kV)Hands-on experience with: High voltage power suppliesPulsed power or power disruption systemsInsulation design, creepage/clearance, and arc mitigationStrong understanding of safety standards and compliance related to high voltage systemsExperience leading or contributing to technical design reviewsExperience working within formal engineering change processes (ECNs)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in: Semiconductor capital equipmentRF power systemsPower distribution and control systemsPCB design experience using tools such as Altium, PADS, or PSpiceExperience with Creo Schematic, Creo Cabling, or AutoCADFamiliarity with Windchill PLMExperience working with global or offshore engineering teamsEQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENTIt is the policy of Axcelis to provide equal opportunity in all areas of employment for all persons free from discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, color, national origin, disability status, medical condition (including pregnancy), veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.

The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role.Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
