In this hybrid role, you will serve as a key technical leader for design verification testing of the humanoid robot Torso electrical subsystem and components including PCBAs, battery systems, power electronics, and advanced sensors such as cameras and LiDAR.
You will own verification strategy and planning, develop robust test infrastructure, lead subsystem-level characterization, and drive improvements in test coverage, engineering rigor, and design robustness.Design Verification Strategy & PlanningOwn the design verification strategy for Torso electrical subsystems and components, including PCBAs, batteries, sensors, and power electronicsDefine verification plans, coverage goals, and test protocols across the product development lifecyclePartner with hardware design, systems engineering, and analysis teams to ensure requirements, testability, and verification readiness are addressed early in developmentMaintain clear end-to-end traceability from subsystem requirements through test execution and resultsTest Development & ExecutionDevelop and execute subsystem-level characterization and design verification testing for torso electronicsDesign automated, repeatable test setups for cameras, LiDAR, battery packs, power distribution, and control electronicsBuild test scripts, tooling, and diagnostics to improve efficiency, repeatability, and data qualityContinuous Improvement & Technical LeadershipLead investigation of verification test failures and nonconformances, driving root cause identification and corrective actions in partnership with design teamsIdentify gaps in verification coverage and implement improvements in test infrastructure, processes, and standardsDocument test methods, results, and best practices to scale learning across future development cyclesMentor junior engineers and foster a culture of strong engineering rigor, execution, and continuous improvementQualifications:Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in test engineering, design verification, or electrical validationStrong preference for experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or other complex hardware systemsTechnical Expertise:Deep understanding of electronics verification testing, including power, signal integrity, and sensor interfaces with a strong preference for experience with EtherCAT architectureExperience validating battery systems, power distribution, and safety-critical electrical subsystemsFamiliarity with sensor verification (cameras, LiDAR, IMUs) and performance characterizationProficiency with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, sensors, logic analyzers, DAQs, power supplies, and environmental test equipmentProficiency in python scripting for test automationSkills:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate test results into clear design feedbackExceptional communication and collaboration abilities, capable of driving alignment and leading technical discussions across multidisciplinary teams and supplier partnersDemonstrated ability to execute effectively and drive results in dynamic, highly ambiguous environments.Education:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred)This a hybrid position based out of one of our Fremont, CA office.The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
