We're working with a global renewable energy organisation that is expanding its engineering team in Houston. This is an opportunity to join a specialist group supporting the connection and performance of large-scale renewable energy assets across North America.

We're seeking experienced engineers with backgrounds in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Control Systems who have experience with grid connections, power system studies, renewable energy or electric utilities transmission projects.

The Role

As a Grid Interconnection Engineer, you will support the technical delivery of renewable energy projects from early development through commissioning and operational support. You'll work closely with engineering teams, utilities, grid operators, project developers, and external stakeholders to ensure projects achieve reliable and compliant grid connections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical reviews of electrical studies and grid connection requirements.
  • Support interconnection processes with utilities and transmission organisations.
  • Evaluate project designs against applicable grid requirements and industry standards.
  • Assist with the development and validation of power plant control strategies.
  • Provide technical input throughout project design, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Support resolution of grid performance issues and technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective grid connection solutions.

About You

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Control Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working in grid interconnection, power systems engineering, renewable energy, utilities, or related industries.
  • Understanding of power system modelling, grid studies, and interconnection requirements.
  • Familiarity with North American grid standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory, or similar platforms is beneficial.
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
