The successful candidate is a visual storyteller who demonstrates excellent creative and communications skills. The ideal candidate stays current with the latest design resources, communicates clearly, and has excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
This is not a corporate communications or marketing position, but rather a strategic communications role that provides HDR's clients with compelling design work.In the role of Senior Graphic Designer, we'll count on you to:Plan, manage and deliver projects from concept through completionAssist in development of materials and serve as presenter/contributor/leader for meetings and task force assignmentsWork with other designers on multicomponent projects, and partner with clients to shape deliverablesDemonstrates effective leadership with clients and is available to help mentorConceptualize and design corporate and marketing materialsResearch technology/production techniques, and processes as necessary for each projectEnsure quality control through approval of proofs, press checks, and review/testing of materials before deploymentSet overall strategy, vision, and direction, and use interactive design capabilitiesMentor, review projects and assist other designers with projects and programs, and assist with training of internal clientsTake responsibility for design, communication, organizational development, corporate strategic alignment, and trainingPlan, produce, research and test interactive presentations and materials using the latest new technologiesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Web Design or Fine Arts related field of study or equivalent experienceExperience with Premiere, After Effects, Dreamweaver, and CSS; offset printing/digital printing/color correctionPreference given to candidates currently residing in the Mid-Atlantic (VA/MD/DC) AreaA portfolio is required for considerationRequired Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experienceProficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)Microsoft Office suiteAbility to design a wide variety of stylesEye for design details, such as typography, alignment, hierarchy, etcStrong portfolio showing design experienceUnderstanding of branding/brand development, communications, and researchProficiency in customer service, strong communication and negotiation skills, flexibility, time management, project management, detail oriented, leadership, and teamworkExperience with Premiere, After Effects and Audition; ability and experience working on strategic campaigns (Video Designers Only)Offset printing/digital printing/color correction; ability to coordinate complex projectsHDR is our company.
