Senior Geotechnical EngineerECS is actively hiring Senior Geotechnical Engineers to lead major infrastructure and transportation initiatives across North Carolina. This role is designed for a technical leader who can balance complex engineering design with high-level client management for DOT and other large-scale infrastructure programs.ResponsibilitiesPrimarily involved with overseeing the preparation and review of geotechnical reports from junior staff with a strong commitment to meeting project deadlinesManagement of geotechnical engineering projects, which will consist of performing boring layouts, obtaining utility clearances, supervising drill rigs, performing in-situ testing, classifying soils, determining appropriate laboratory tests, and preparing geotechnical engineering reportsBoth prepare and oversee the preparation and review of geotechnical and CMT proposals by junior staffOversee CMT projects with daily report review and assist junior staff with resolution of issues and training of field staffHost or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions as necessaryMentor, train, and develop junior-level staffCollaborate with other managers to help make staffing decisionsQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related fieldProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license required; Professional Geologist (P.G.) license may be acceptable in certain states5+ years of experience in geotechnical and transportation engineering, with a focus on design, project management, and technical leadershipProficiency in MicroStation is preferredProven track record of leading technical reviews and serving as a senior technical reviewer at a previous firmStrong analytical, report-writing, and communication skillsDemonstrate initiative and leadership in problem-solving and decision-makingValid driver's license required for travel on behalf of ECSIf you're ready to take your geotechnical expertise to the next level and make a visible impact on infrastructure that matters, ECS wants to hear from you.
