Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR's Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location.

Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices. This position is located full-time on a client site in Los Angeles.In the role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer, we'll count on you to:Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities that have significant impact on major company programsParticipate in marketing efforts of both internal and external clientsOrganize, conduct, and coordinate or manage geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projectsPerform geotechnical technical analyses, prepare geotechnical reports and coordinate with designers to implement recommendationsFunction as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this positionSupervise professionals, technicians and design teams, as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:Master's degreePrevious Federal government experienceOne year experience working in the field in support of heavy geotechnical constructionOne year experience conducting geotechnical analyses, including seepage and slope stabilityProficient in basic field and laboratory testing (e.g., nuclear gauge, sand cone, Proctor tests, grain size distribution)Must write well and be experienced in documenting construction activitiesMust possess valid California Professional Engineer licensesBe familiar with critical ASTM standards, including, but not limited to: D558, D698, D1556, D1632, D1633, D2216, D2487, D6913, and D6938Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree10 years of experienceRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Experience with Microsoft Office applications, GIS, and CADD, as appropriateExperience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundation response software, as appropriateExperience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog)Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques such as Finite Difference, Finite Element, Discrete Element, etc.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Los Angeles, CA: $134,033 - $191,475.
