Senior Geotechnical EngineerWe are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in Bellevue, WA. In this role you will work as part of a team responsible for the inspection, analysis, and evaluation of geotechnical systems (e.g., foundations, retaining walls, excavation support systems, levees, dams, slopes, etc.) and frequently the preparation of repair/mitigation concepts.You will be responsible for:Conducting field inspections and subsurface explorationsPerforming geotechnical and civil engineering analysesAssisting with peer review of the design and construction of geotechnical systemsPreparing conceptual designs for the repair/restoration of damaged geotechnical systemsYou will have the following skills and qualifications:Ph.D. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university + 3 years of post-graduate experienceAlternatively, the qualified candidate may have a M.S.
in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university + a minimum of 5 years of experienceP.E. License in at least one state is requiredDegrees, experience or related coursework in Geology/Geological Engineering, Groundwater/Surface Water Hydrology or Structural Engineering a strong plusStrong analytical and critical thinking skills and potential to develop successful client relationsAttention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, desire to work in a fast paced environment, and effective leadership skillsAbility to work independently or support multiple group projects and to interact with other engineers, administrative staff, and clientsAbility to gather information from a wide variety of sources (e.g., field investigations, document reviews, and interviews) and to synthesize and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industryKnowledge of geotechnical modeling software, graphing software, GIS, and imaging software a strong plusApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) (not restricted to 1 page).
